Shipboard employees are classified in three categories : Officers, Staff and Crew. The highest-ranking officer on board is the ship's Master. The Master has absolute command of the ship, guests and crew.

Staff work in of the following departments: casino, entertainment, gift shop, spa, gym, guest relations, medical department. Staff have the privilege of being allowed in specified public areas when off duty, provided they follow the shipboard rules and regulations which apply to them while in the public areas.

Crew members are assigned to: Food & Beverage Department, Engine, deck, Housekeeping Departments. Crew are not allowed go in public areas while off duty, although they may enjoy their free time in crew areas and in the ports of call.
